Sultanahmet Camii

One of the first stops on my trip in Istanbul, Turkey was to the Sultanahmet Camii (more popularly known as the Blue Mosque) and the Hagia Sofia. This is the Blue Mosque and it’s much smaller than the Hagia Sofia but the architectural design and the ceiling are absolutely amazing and it’s kept in great condition as opposed to the Hagia Sofia that is falling apart due to the poor original architectural design and multiple collapses of the famed dome that’s currently under construction.

The interior of the mosque is lined with more than 20,000 handmade ceramic tiles in more than fifty different tulip designs.
